ВИА Восточный Базар

VIA “Oriental Bazaar” — “Star Road” (1984)

VIA “Oriental Bazaar” was a Soviet vocal-instrumental ensemble active on the concert circuit during the first half of the 1980s. In 1984, the group prepared the program “Star Road”, combining Soviet estrada songs with Eastern and folk-inspired motifs typical of the period’s live entertainment scene.

In 2026, a magnetic recording of the program, originally prepared by the ensemble in 1984, was discovered in a private archive. The recording had never been officially released or commercially distributed.

Before publication, the archival material underwent restoration and modern mastering. The original structure and character of the recording have been preserved, while the restored version is considerably cleaner than the surviving magnetic source.

Recording date: 1984
