VIA "Vanity Fair" (1976–1979) is an artistic reconstruction of a forgotten ensemble whose origins cannot be conclusively verified.

According to surviving references, the group was attached to a regional philharmonic society and combined chamber orchestra, acoustic rock, literary songwriting, and touches of baroque pop. Its songs told small stories about people, time, memory, and choice.

The name "Vanity Fair" was a metaphor for a world where everyone plays a role, searches for something, loses something, and passes by the lives of others. The music watches this endless spectacle from a distance — calmly, with gentle irony and melancholy.

Following the release of their only album, the project was reportedly discontinued due to a "lack of broad public interest." The master tapes were believed to have been lost, and the ensemble gradually disappeared from memory.

What you are about to hear is an artistic reconstruction of what this forgotten ensemble might have been — and what its music might have sounded like.

Welcome to the world of VIA "Vanity Fair."
